Angus cattle are known for having genes that make its meat more tender, marbled and flavourful than regular beef. Raised on lush, green pastures. New Zealand Angus Beef is a unique product of an environment blessed by nature - the best grass and fresh air.
The cheek is a fatty, gelatinous muscle and more densely beefy than any other cut. Black Angus beef cheek is meltingly tender with a rich deep flavour when braised or slow cooked. It absorbs flavours of braising liquid well.
Keep chilled in refrigerator at 1 to 4°C.
The meat is processed and packed in a hygienic temperature controlled environment under strict food safety management system (HACCP and ISO2000 certified). It is not recommended to wash the meat before cooking. Remove the excess blood water if necessary. Wash work surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils, and hands after touching raw meat.
Cooking & Preparation
Beef cheek cut is ideal for stewing, braising or slow cook. Soak in cold water with lemon juice for an hour or two. Removes any sinews, dice and slow simmer for two to three hours until fork tender.
