Beef Rendang

Beef Rendang
A hearty, flavor-packed dish of slow-cooked beef infused with warm spices and rich coconut goodness.

Ingredients
- Hego Beef Cube 500g
- 400 ml coconut milk
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 3 shallots
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 stalk lemongrass, bruised
- 2 tbsp rendang paste
- 2 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Blend shallots, garlic, and ginger into a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pot over medium heat, add the blended paste, and sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in the rendang paste and cook for another minute.
- Add beef cubes and mix well to coat with the spices.
- Pour in coconut milk, then add lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. Simmer on low heat for 1–1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Cook until the beef is tender and the sauce thickens, then adjust salt to taste.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot with:
- Steamed rice
- Ketupat (compressed rice cakes)
